The Blauburgunder DOC 2022 from Kollerhof is a characterful South Tyrolean Pinot Noir that vividly reflects the typical strengths of this demanding grape variety from Mazzon. Grown on mineral-rich soils and in a climate marked by pronounced day–night temperature differences, Kollerhof cultivates its Pinot Noir vines with great care to preserve finesse, freshness and aromatic precision. The grapes are harvested by hand, gently destemmed and fermented under controlled conditions. The wine then matures for around one year in wooden barrels and subsequently rests in stainless steel tanks to further refine balance and clarity. This careful ageing process gives the Blauburgunder an elegant structure and a harmonious integration of fruit and spice. In the glass, the Blauburgunder DOC 2022 displays a bright ruby red colour. On the nose, it reveals a multi-layered bouquet of forest berries, juicy cherries and subtle spicy notes, typical of Pinot Noir from this origin. On the palate, the wine is harmonious, fresh and well structured, supported by silky tannins and a precise, well-integrated acidity. The fruit is clear and vibrant, accompanied by a fine mineral note that adds depth and tension. The Blauburgunder DOC 2022 from Kollerhof impresses with elegance, expression and classic South Tyrolean finesse.
