The Kerner DOC - 2025 from Pacherhof is light yellow with a slight green reflection. On the nose, it develops a pleasant, aromatic and fruity bouquet with notes of white peach and grapefruit. On the palate, it is full, fruity and fresh, making it an elegant and appealing wine.
This wine is made from the Kerner grape variety. Kerner is a cross between Riesling and Trollinger and is characterized by its fruity aroma and fresh acid structure. This grape variety grows particularly well in cooler wine-growing regions and produces wines with a harmonious balance between fruit and acidity.
The special feature of Pacherhofs Kerner lies in its origin from the Brixen valley basin in Neustift, at an altitude of 600 to 900 meters above sea level. The vines grow on gravelly moraine soils, which are rich in mica slate, paragneis and quartzite. This soil composition contributes to the minerality and complexity of the wine. The vines are cultivated according to the Guyot system and the vines are between 12 and 26 years old.
The wine maturing process involves storage on fine yeast in steel tanks, which contributes to the development of aromas and to improving the structure. This gives the wine a special finesse and longevity.
