The Custoza Riserva DOC Rabitta 2023 from Cavalchina is a refined and structured expression of this historic appellation south of Lake Garda. The vineyards are located on morainic hills with limestone and gravel soils that provide excellent drainage and contribute to the wine’s mineral character. The moderate climate, influenced by the lake and alpine breezes, allows for gradual ripening while preserving freshness and aromatic clarity.
Custoza is traditionally produced as a blend of indigenous grape varieties, predominantly Garganega, complemented by Trebbiano, Cortese and other local grapes. This combination creates balance, aromatic depth and a well-defined structure.
The designation Riserva requires a minimum ageing period of 24 months, adding complexity, elegance and ageing potential.
In the glass, it displays an intense straw yellow colour with golden highlights. The bouquet reveals ripe apple, pear, citrus and subtle almond notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied, mineral and harmonious, with integrated acidity and a long, persistent finish.
