The Chardonnay DOC 2025 from St. Michael-Eppan Winery is a classic South Tyrolean white wine that expresses the variety in a particularly clean and elegant style. The grapes come from hillside vineyards between Eppan and Kaltern at elevations of 400 to 500 metres above sea level. Calcareous gravel soils and moraine deposits give the wine freshness, structure and refined mineral tension. Chardonnay has played an important role in South Tyrol since the 1980s and is now one of the region’s most significant white grape varieties. In these sites, it develops a precise balance of juicy fruit, elegance and harmonious acidity.
Vinification in stainless steel with partial malolactic fermentation preserves aromatic clarity while adding further smoothness.
In the glass, it shows a bright yellow colour with greenish reflections. The bouquet reveals fruity aromas of ripe apple, melon and banana. On the palate it is delicate, juicy and inviting, with harmonious structure and a pleasantly long, clean finish.
