The Donà Blanc IGT 2021 from Hartmann Donà Estate in South Tyrol is a characterful white wine cuvée made from Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay. The grapes come from selected vineyards around Magrè and Cortaccia in the southern part of South Tyrol, where warm days and cool nights provide ideal conditions for structured and age-worthy white wines. The aim of this wine is to combine the elegance of Pinot Blanc with the structure and depth of Chardonnay. After careful hand harvesting, the grapes are gently processed. Fermentation and ageing take place largely in oak barrels, which adds complexity and structure to the wine. The Donà Blanc then matures on fine lees for an extended period, gaining additional texture, balance and ageing potential. This careful vinification results in a white wine that combines freshness with depth while clearly expressing the style of the estate. On the nose, the Donà Blanc reveals aromas of ripe apple, pear and citrus, accompanied by subtle notes of vanilla, toasted nuts and a hint of honey. On the palate, the wine shows both power and elegance, with fresh acidity, a creamy texture and a long mineral finish, characteristic of high-quality white wines from South Tyrol.
