Schmid-Oberrautner Winery, Michael-Pacher Str. 3, 39100 Bolzano, IT
Vormas Chardonnay DOC from the Schmid Oberrautner winery originates from vineyards around Bolzano in South Tyrol. The vines are cultivated using trellis training systems, and the grapes are harvested by hand to ensure careful selection of the fruit. After harvest, the grapes are gently processed to preserve their quality. Fermentation and maturation take place entirely in stainless steel tanks, allowing the wine to retain the freshness and varietal character typical of Chardonnay. The wine is classified as Alto Adige DOC and represents the classic white wine style of the winery.
Chardonnay is one of the most widely planted and internationally recognised white grape varieties. In the alpine vineyards of South Tyrol it produces elegant and balanced wines with clear fruit expression, lively freshness and refined structure.
In the glass the wine shows a straw-yellow colour with light greenish reflections. The nose reveals a delicate aroma of apple. On the palate it develops a harmonious combination of exotic fruit notes, supported by refreshing acidity and a pleasantly persistent, elegant finish.
