The Merlot/Cabernet DOC Curtis 2024 from Kurtatsch Winery brings together two international grape varieties that thrive in the southern part of Alto Adige. Merlot contributes softness and ripe fruit character, while Cabernet adds structure, depth, and subtle spicy notes. The significant day-night temperature differences in this area support precise aromatic development and balanced ripening.
The “Curtis” cuvée stands for balance and drinkability. It combines the smooth texture of Merlot with the firm tannins and freshness of Cabernet, resulting in a wine that is both approachable and expressive, clearly reflecting its origin.
In the glass, it shows an intense ruby red color. On the nose, it reveals aromas of ripe dark fruits such as cherry and blackcurrant, complemented by delicate spicy hints. On the palate, it is well-balanced, with soft tannins, juicy fruit, and a lively freshness that leads to a pleasant, medium-length finish.
