Pasini San Giovanni

Unique wines from Lombardy

Pasini San Giovanni is a historic winery in Lombardy located between Valtenesi and Lugana on the Brescia side of Lake Garda. Founded in 1958 by the Pasini family, the estate is known for its strong focus on sustainability, organic viticulture and the promotion of local grape varieties from the Garda region. Since 2016, all vineyards have been organically certified, reflecting the winery’s long-term commitment to environmental responsibility and biodiversity.

One of the estate’s most important grape varieties is Turbiana, the native variety behind Lugana DOC wines. The vineyards are mainly located in San Benedetto di Lugana and the surrounding areas of Busocaldo and Broglie, where clay-rich soils and the mild Lake Garda climate create ideal conditions for fresh, mineral-driven and age-worthy white wines. Pasini San Giovanni’s Lugana wines are appreciated for their elegance, vibrant acidity and notes of citrus, white flowers and yellow stone fruit.

Alongside Lugana, the winery also cultivates traditional Valtenesi grape varieties such as Groppello, one of the historic red grapes of the Brescia side of Lake Garda. These vineyards produce delicate and refined Chiaretto rosé wines as well as elegant reds characterised by freshness and aromatic finesse. Other varieties grown by the estate include Sangiovese, Marzemino, Barbera and Riesling Renano, all of which benefit from the balanced climatic conditions created by the nearby lake.

The landscape surrounding Pasini San Giovanni is deeply shaped by Lake Garda, Italy’s largest lake, whose cooling breezes and Mediterranean influence create a particularly mild climate despite the proximity of the Alps. Combined with morainic and clay soils, these conditions allow the winery to craft wines with authentic regional character, freshness and excellent drinkability.
