Castel Sallegg
Castel Sallegg is a historic winery that is deeply rooted in the wine-growing tradition of South Tyrol. Located in the picturesque region of Lake Kaltern, part of the Überetsch sub-region in the province of South Tyrol, Italy, it is known for its high-quality wines and picturesque surroundings.
The castle, which gives the winery its name, was owned by the von Kuenburg family, who acquired it in 1851. Today, the winery is managed by Count Georg von Kuenburg, who continues the long tradition of winemaking while integrating modern techniques to improve the quality and character of the wines.
Castel Sallegg is particularly known for its white wines, including “Bischofsleiten” and “Vigna Castel Sallegg”, as well as for the “Sallie Rosé”. The red wine “Merlot Riserva” and the “Cabernet Sauvignon Riserva” are also outstanding examples of their portfolio. These wines reflect the unique combination of alpine climate and Mediterranean influences that is characteristic of the wine-growing zone.
