The Sauvignon Alto Adige DOC 2024 from Castel Sallegg is a characterful white wine from South Tyrol, distinguished by its aromatic complexity and elegant structure. The grapes come from the historic Leisenpuiten vineyard in Kaltern, located at 500 m above sea level, where cool downdrafts from the surrounding mountains create a balanced microclimate. Manual harvesting, gentle pressing, and temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by aging on fine lees, give this wine its signature freshness and depth. In the glass, it shows a bright straw yellow. The nose is dominated by intense aromas of elderflower, gooseberry, and ripe yellow peach, complemented by typical vegetal notes. On the palate, it is juicy with lively acidity and a long, mineral finish.
