Girlan Winery
Girlan Winery was founded in 1923 in Girlan, a village in the municipality of Eppan in South Tyrol. The winery was founded by 24 winegrowers and has developed over the decades into one of the most important cooperatives in South Tyrol. Today, it has around 200 members who jointly cultivate an area of around 220 hectares. This collaborative structure makes it possible to preserve traditional winemaking practices while integrating innovative methods.
A special feature of the Girlan winery is the variety and quality of its wines, which are made possible by the special microclimate and the different soil conditions of the region. The winegrowing families, who have worked in winegrowing for generations, contribute their extensive knowledge and passion to production. Under the direction of winemaker Gerhard Kofler, the grapes are processed with great care to produce the best possible wines.
Themost famous wines from the Girlan winery include the “Flora” Weissburgunder, the “Gschleier” Vernatsch and the “Patricia” Lagrein. These wines are characterized by their outstanding quality and their unmistakable character, which reflects the region's terroir. An interesting detail is that the Girlan winery is located in a historic building from the 16th century, which also gives it a special charm.
