Kurtatsch Winery
The vineyards of the Kurtatsch winery range from 220 to 900 meters in altitude - a remarkable difference of 700 meters within a single wine-growing community. This unique constellation in Europe gives the winery a wealth of terroirs. The diverse interplay of climate, soil, altitude and solar radiation creates the ideal conditions for growing and developing every grape variety.
In alpine viticulture, every wine and every vintage is the result of a special and unmistakable combination of events. The lower altitudes are among the warmest in South Tyrol and are perfect for strong red wines with an alpine character. On the other hand, expressive alpine white wines are produced in the higher areas.
The Kurtatsch winery represents an innovative model of cooperation that redefines aspects of environmental, social and economic sustainability. The 190 winegrowing families cultivate their hectares of vineyards in a sustainable way and produce characterful wines that reflect the unique terroirs — location by location, wine by wine.
The young team from Kellerei Kurtatsch works in a modern building that blends harmoniously into the landscape and integrates various natural elements into its design.
