The Riesling Smaragd Ried Steinporz 2023 from Hirtzberger Winery displays a bright greenish yellow with silver highlights. On the nose, it reveals aromas of fresh vineyard peach, complemented by dark mineral notes, a hint of lime, and white blossoms. On the palate, it is taut and tightly knit, with bright fruit, a cool, precise style, and a finely woven acidity. The finish is citrus-salty, very long and graceful – making this wine a refined food companion. This wine is made from 100% Riesling, a grape known for its pronounced fruit and vibrant acidity. Ried Steinporz is one of the most renowned sites in the Wachau, with barren, mineral-rich soils and steep terraces that offer ideal conditions for Riesling cultivation.
