The “RF” Pinot Nero 2022 from the RF Selection Series by Roberto Ferrari is an elegant, characterful Pinot Noir that highlights the refined nature of this demanding grape variety. The fruit is sourced from the elevated Gleno site at about 600 meters altitude, where well-ventilated calcareous soils and warm afternoon sun promote slow, aromatic ripening. The RF line represents carefully selected wines that clearly reflect the winemaker’s signature, the terroir, and the pure varietal expression. After a roughly 14-day fermentation without mechanical intervention, the wine matures for around 18 months in wooden barrels, developing structure, finesse, and depth in harmonious balance.
In the glass, it shows a bright, intense ruby red. The bouquet is layered and refined, offering red berries, cherry, floral hints and subtle spice. On the palate it is dry, elegant, balanced and well-structured, with fine tannins and refreshing acidity. The finish is long, clean and precise, making this a Pinot Noir that beautifully unites finesse, terroir authenticity and modern craftsmanship.
