The Grüner Veltliner Ried Kellerberg 2022 by F.X. Pichler is one of the great single-vineyard wines of the Wachau and comes from one of the most renowned sites near Dürnstein. The steep terraced slopes of Kellerberg are defined by primary rock and gneiss soils, giving the wine exceptional precision, depth, and striking mineral tension. The unique microclimate along the Danube, with warm days and cool nights, allows for slow and even ripening while preserving its vibrant freshness.
Grüner Veltliner finds ideal conditions in the Wachau and arguably shows its most elegant and age-worthy expression here. In top sites such as Kellerberg, the grape combines its characteristic spice with remarkable structure, depth, and refined minerality. The region is internationally renowned for expressive, terroir-driven white wines in which both origin and vintage are clearly reflected.
In the glass, the wine displays a bright pale yellow color with brilliant reflections. The bouquet reveals aromas of white peach, yellow apple, citrus zest, and delicate herbal notes, accompanied by a stony minerality. On the palate, it is powerful and precise, with juicy fruit, fine spice, and a long, taut, mineral finish.
