The Fiano di Avellino DOCG Pietracalda 2023 from the renowned Feudi di San Gregorio estate is an outstanding white wine from the heart of Irpinia in Campania. It is made from 100% Fiano, an indigenous grape variety celebrated for its aromatic complexity, fine texture and excellent ageing potential. The grapes come from carefully selected vineyard sites around Sorbo Serpico, where altitude, microclimate and mineral-rich soils create ideal conditions for high-quality white wine production. Pietracalda belongs to the Riserva category, reflected in its longer maturation and the particular care taken during élevage: after fermentation, the wine ages for many months in stainless steel on the full lees with repeated bâtonnage, followed by additional bottle ageing. In the glass, this Fiano shows an intense, bright straw-yellow colour. On the nose, it opens with an inviting bouquet featuring clear aromas of fresh citrus fruit, chamomile-like floral notes, ripe pear and candied citron, supported by subtle minerality typical of Irpinia’s terroir. On the palate, the wine is both elegant and structured, offering a harmonious balance of fruit richness, vibrant freshness and saline minerality, leading to a long and impressive finish.

With 80,000 specially designed ribbed bottles released, the Feudi di San Gregorio 2021 Fiano di Avellino Pietracalda is super pristine and precise with white peach, citrus basket, crunchy pear and powdered oyster shell. The effect is sharp and laser-focused to both the nose and the palate. Fresh acidity seals the deal. This wine spends a brief four months in stainless steel.
