The Sauvignon Riserva DOC Renaissance 2022 from Gumphof is an outstanding example of South Tyrolean Sauvignon Blanc, produced as a Riserva in exceptional years to fully showcase the varietal character. In the glass, it displays a bright straw-yellow color with greenish highlights, reflecting the careful ripening of the grapes and meticulous winemaking. On the nose, it reveals a complex bouquet of floral notes, gooseberry, sage, and subtle exotic fruit, accompanied by elegant mineral hints typical of South Tyrol. On the palate, it is dry, with a precise, structured body, lively acidity, and finely integrated oak, adding tension and elegance. The wine is full-bodied yet harmonious, with a long, juicy, and pleasantly saline finish that highlights the personality of the Sauvignon. Sauvignon Blanc is known for its aromatic intensity and freshness – qualities this Riserva demonstrates in a balanced and complex way.
