The Pietro dal Cero 2019 is a great Amarone from the eastern part of Valpolicella and perfectly represents the powerful yet elegant style of this historic wine region. The blend of Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Croatina expresses the classic identity of the area at the highest level. In Valpolicella, Corvina and Corvinone provide intense dark fruit, structure and remarkable depth, while Rondinella and Croatina add further aromatic finesse and richness. The 2019 vintage shows an intense ruby red colour and already reveals outstanding expression in the glass. On the nose, opulent aromas of amarena cherry, dark cherry, chocolate and sweet spices unfold, accompanied by floral hints and refined balsamic notes. With aeration, elegant nuances of star anise, coffee and delicate tobacco emerge. On the palate, the wine is powerful, smooth and velvety, with a dense structure and impressive persistence. The dark fruit combines with spicy and balsamic nuances into an elegant and very long finish. It pairs beautifully with aged cheeses, braised dishes, slow-cooked meats and game.
