The Primitivo IGT Mistico 2022 from L'Archetipo is a powerful and complex red wine made exclusively from the Primitivo grape variety. This grape variety is known for its intense fruitiness and deep aromas.
In the glass, the Primitivo Mistico shows a deep ruby red color. On the nose, a rich bouquet of black cherries, plums and spices unfolds, accompanied by notes of pepper and licorice. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and velvety, with well-integrated tannins and lively acidity. The fruity aromas are complemented by a subtle woody note, which comes from aging in large oak barrels. The aftertaste is long and complex, with an elegant structure and a fine mineral note.
The special feature of this wine lies in its production. The grapes are harvested late and partly dried on the vine to achieve a higher concentration of aromas. After spontaneous fermentation, there is a long maceration on the skins over eight months, followed by aging in large oak barrels for 24 months and a further eight months in the bottle. These methods give wine its deep complexity and structure.
