The Kastlet Cabernet/Lagrein IGT 2022 from Loacker Estate combines Cabernet Sauvignon and Lagrein in an expressive South Tyrolean blend. The estate cultivates its vineyards according to organic and biodynamic principles, making this a certified organic wine. The vines grow on the hills surrounding Bolzano, where moraine soils rich in porphyry, clay, and sand contribute structure and a distinctive sense of origin. Careful hand harvesting and spontaneous fermentation preserve the authentic character of both grape varieties. The wine is then aged first in French oak barriques and later in larger oak casks, followed by an additional maturation period in stainless steel to achieve greater harmony. The result is an elegant and complex blend with depth, structure, and excellent aging potential.
In the glass, the wine displays an intense ruby-red color. The bouquet combines aromas of dark berries and wild fruits with delicate notes of vanilla and spice. On the palate, it is powerful yet velvety, offering a fine balance of freshness, elegant tannins, and a long, harmonious finish.
