Garlider

Garlider Winery in the Eisack Valley is one of South Tyrol’s distinctive family-run estates, combining traditional farming with a consistent natural approach to viticulture. The estate has been family-owned for generations and is now run by Christian Kerschbaumer, who shapes the winery with a strong focus on origin, craftsmanship and biodynamic farming. The aim is to reflect the authentic character of vineyard site, climate and vintage as naturally as possible in every wine.

Garlider’s vineyards are located above Klausen in the Eisack Valley, on steep slopes between 500 and around 900 metres above sea level. These Alpine high-altitude vineyards are among the estate’s defining characteristics: warm sunny days and cool nights allow the grapes to ripen slowly while preserving freshness, aromatic intensity and tension. Mineral-rich soils and the Eisack Valley’s unique microclimate give the wines precision, elegance and a clear sense of origin.

Garlider is especially known for the classic white grape varieties of the Eisack Valley. Sylvaner plays a particularly important role, thriving in the region’s high-altitude vineyards and showing freshness, minerality and elegance. The range is complemented by Pinot Grigio, Müller-Thurgau, Grüner Veltliner and Pinot Noir, each expressing the Alpine character of the region in its own way. The winery also produces selected red wines in small quantities.

At the heart of Garlider’s philosophy are biodynamic farming, extensive manual vineyard work and a restrained approach in the cellar. The result is authentic South Tyrolean wines that express the altitude, origin and distinctive character of the Eisack Valley.
