Bergmannhof
The Bergmannhof, a family-run winery since 1851, is located in Unterrain, Eppan on the wine route. Founded in the 17th century and since 1979 under the direction of Karl and Josef Pichler, who decided to process the grapes from their 2.5-hectare vineyard themselves. Today, the farm is a cross-generational company run by Grandpa Karl, Mama Agata, Father Josef and sons Johannes and Benjamin. They combine traditional winemaking with modern methods and a strong focus on sustainability and closeness to nature.
The winery cultivates various grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Vernatsch, Lagrein, Merlot and Cabernet Franc on limestone soils and plans to introduce Pinot Blanc from a new location at an altitude of 800 meters. Most of the wines are aged in wooden barrels, avoiding minimal sulfurization and unnecessary intervention in order to preserve the natural quality and harmony of the wines. The grape harvest is a family event in which the grapes are carefully picked and processed by hand to guarantee the highest quality.
