Garganega
The Garganega grape variety comes from Italy and is the main grape for Soave wine. It is appreciated for its dry, lean style, which develops rich notes of mandarin and roasted almonds over time. Typical aromas include peach, honeydew melon, mandarin, marjoram and a salty note. Garganega wines are dry, have a medium-light body, no tannins and a medium-high acidity. They have an alcohol content of 11.5— 13.5%. Soave goes well with light meats, tofu or fish and is best served at 7-12°C. The wines can be stored for 5-10 years.
