The Rosso Toscana IGT Calamassi 2024 by Castelli del Grevepesa elegantly captures the authentic character of the Tuscan hills. According to the producer, the blend is made from 90% Sangiovese, complemented by a small proportion of other red and white grape varieties. In Tuscany, Sangiovese is the region’s signature grape, developing its typical balance of fruit, freshness, and refined structure across the rolling hills of the Chianti area. The grapes are hand-harvested from the estate’s Tuscan vineyards and vinified under temperature-controlled conditions with a ten-day skin maceration, followed by ageing in stainless steel tanks. In the glass, it shows a bright ruby-red colour. On the nose, pleasant fruity aromas unfold with clear notes of sour cherry, typical of the dominant Sangiovese. On the palate, the wine is harmonious, balanced, and persistent, finishing with an appealing fruity aftertaste.
