The Moscato Rosa DOC 2024 by Franz Haas is a sweet red wine of remarkable elegance. It is characterized by a bright ruby-red colour and an intense, aromatic bouquet with notes of rose petals, cloves, cinnamon, and orange peel. On the palate, it is complex and refined, showing a harmonious balance between acidity, sweetness, and fine tannins. The Moscato Rosa grape variety is renowned for its distinctive floral and spicy aromas. A defining feature of this wine is its careful vinification: the grapes are vinified like a red wine, but with a shortened maceration period to avoid excessive tannin extraction. Fermentation is halted by cooling to preserve the desired level of residual sweetness. The vineyards are located at elevations between 250 and 300 metres, in well-ventilated sites, which helps prevent the development of noble rot and preserves the wine’s aromatic purity and complexity.
