The Chardonnay DOC Vigna Villa Karneid 2025 –
Castelfeder is a highly expressive white wine from one of the most historically significant winegrowing areas of the Bassa Atesina in southern South Tyrol, near Salurn. The grapes come exclusively from the
single vineyard Vigna Villa Karneid, whose alluvial soils with dolomitic components and Mediterranean-influenced climate provide ideal conditions for producing elegant, structured Chardonnay. Different training systems promote even ripening, while hand harvesting and gentle processing ensure the highest quality fruit. Following a short cold maceration and soft pressing,
fermentation takes place in stainless steel. The wine then matures for several months in oak, adding depth, complexity and subtle spicy nuances.
In the glass, the Chardonnay DOC Vigna Villa Karneid 2025 displays a bright straw-yellow colour with clear reflections. The bouquet is intense and layered, revealing aromas of ripe yellow fruit, pear and delicate almond notes, complemented by elegant hints of vanilla and fine spice. On the palate, the wine is powerful yet well balanced, with juicy fruit, precise acidity and a refined structure. The finish is long, harmonious and marked by depth and elegance. This Chardonnay combines strength and finesse in a convincing way, clearly reflecting the unique terroir of Vigna Villa Karneid and the distinctive style of Castelfeder.
