The Sauvignon Riserva DOC “Sacalis” 2023 from Ansitz Waldgries Estate is an expressive South Tyrolean white wine made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc. The grapes come from a small vineyard parcel in Eppan Berg, located at around 550 metres above sea level with a south-east exposure. The soils consist of calcareous clay crossed by a limestone vein, a geological feature that gives the wine its pronounced minerality and a strong sense of terroir.

Sauvignon Blanc is known for its aromatic intensity and lively acidity. For Sacalis, vinification is carried out with great precision: the grapes are harvested by hand and carefully selected. After around twelve hours of cold maceration, the grapes are gently pressed. Fermentation and ageing take place in tonneaux, which adds depth, structure and aromatic complexity while preserving the freshness typical of the variety.

In the glass, Sacalis Sauvignon Riserva 2023 shows a pale straw-yellow colour with greenish reflections. The bouquet reveals aromas of exotic fruits such as mango, papaya and pineapple, accompanied by subtle herbal and floral notes. On the palate the wine is structured, mineral and precise, supported by lively acidity. The finish is long and elegant, with a clear mineral character.
