The Gewürztraminer DOC Leiten 2025 from Nals Margreid originates from the warm vineyards of South Tyrol’s Lower Adige region, one of the most renowned areas for this aromatic grape variety. Around Tramin and along the South Tyrolean Wine Road, Gewürztraminer benefits from ideal growing conditions: calcareous soils, warm sunny days and Mediterranean influences help create wines with intensity, expression and remarkable freshness. For Leiten, the grapes come from southeast-facing vineyards located between 350 and 550 metres above sea level on calcareous soils with clay gravel. After careful grape selection, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks for around three weeks, followed by several months ageing on the fine lees to enhance balance and structure. In the glass, it shines with a bright straw-yellow colour. The bouquet is rich and spicy, revealing aromas of pineapple, kiwi and delicate herbal nuances, supported by the grape variety’s characteristic aromatic intensity. On the palate, the wine is juicy and harmonious, showing exotic fruit, fine structure and a fresh, lively finish that beautifully reflects the Mediterranean character of South Tyrol’s Lower Adige region.
