The Chardonnay DOC Since 83 2024 by Schreckbichl is an elegant and finely structured white wine from Alto Adige, paying tribute to the pioneering work of Schreckbichl’s Chardonnay producers since 1983. The name “Since 83” stands for tradition, quality and the winery’s long-standing experience with this international grape variety, marking an important milestone in the history of Schreckbichl Chardonnay. This single-varietal Chardonnay is defined by its clear, fruity yet complex style. In the glass, it shows a bright straw-yellow colour with greenish reflections, typical of grapes grown on Alto Adige’s calcareous, sandy and gravelly moraine soils. The bouquet captivates with intense aromas of yellow stone fruit, ripe citrus and exotic notes, complemented by delicate hints of hazelnut and vanilla. On the palate, the wine is harmonious, round and smooth, supported by well-integrated acidity that provides freshness and length. Careful cellar work, including partial maturation of the must in large oak casks and tonneaux, gives this Chardonnay additional nuances and texture.
