The Negroamaro IGT “Niuru Maru” 2023 from L’Archetipo comes from the Salento area in Puglia and is made from 100% Negroamaro. The vineyards grow on calcareous, sandy soils rich in organic matter and are farmed according to organic and synergistic agriculture principles. Harvesting is carried out manually in October, ensuring careful grape selection.
Fermentation occurs spontaneously with indigenous yeasts (pied de cuve), followed by a maceration on the skins lasting about 20–30 days. The wine is neither fined nor filtered and is aged for several months mainly in stainless steel, with a brief passage in wood and further bottle aging to refine its balance. Negroamaro is one of the key grape varieties of Salento, known for producing intense and structured wines. In this case, it is interpreted in a more elegant and fresh style, with a lighter and more drinkable profile.
In the glass, it shows a bright ruby red color. On the nose, it reveals aromas of sour cherry, plum and subtle spicy notes. On the palate, it is balanced and smooth, with fine tannins, lively freshness and a refined, fruit-driven finish.
