The Riesling DOC 2025 from Plonerhof Estate comes from the steep vineyards above the Merano basin in Marling, where the vines grow on soils rich in granite, slate, and gneiss with sandy clay components. The hillside sites with morning sun exposure and the significant temperature differences between day and night allow the grapes to ripen slowly, giving the wine its remarkable freshness and refined minerality. The estate follows a nature-oriented approach to viticulture, avoiding chemical fertilizers and herbicides while placing great emphasis on the gentle handling of the grapes. After harvest, the must undergoes temperature-controlled fermentation, and the wine is aged on its own lees in stainless steel tanks and partly in large oak casks. The result is a Riesling that harmoniously combines elegance, precision, and a strong sense of origin.
In the glass, the wine displays a bright straw-yellow color. The bouquet combines rich fruit aromas with delicate spicy notes and subtle minerality. On the palate, it is juicy and vibrant, featuring elegant acidity, fine spice, and a long, harmonious, and persistent finish.
