Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Origini 2017 by La Fornace comes from the estate’s northeast-facing vineyards in Montalcino, located at around 400 metres above sea level. The sandy-clay soils and elevated position create ideal conditions for slow and balanced grape ripening, enhancing elegance, structure and aromatic depth. Careful hand harvesting and the strict selection of the finest grapes form the foundation of this characterful Brunello, which develops complexity through extended ageing.
Origini is produced exclusively from Sangiovese, the historic grape variety of Montalcino and the only grape permitted for Brunello production. In the higher-altitude northeastern areas of the appellation, Sangiovese often retains greater freshness and aromatic precision, while the soils contribute finesse and structural balance.
In the glass, the wine reveals impressive depth and complexity. The bouquet opens with ripe cherry, plum and dark forest berry aromas, accompanied by spicy notes, black pepper and subtle hints of vanilla, tobacco and chocolate. On the palate, it is powerful yet harmonious, with velvety tannins, refined structure and a long, persistent finish.
