The Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2023 from La Fornace comes from estate-owned vineyards located around Montalcino at approximately 400 metres above sea level. The vineyards are fully managed by the estate, with great care given to hand harvesting and strict grape selection. The wine is made from 100% Sangiovese, the key grape variety of Montalcino. At this altitude, Sangiovese develops a well-defined structure and freshness while maintaining aromatic depth. Direct vineyard management allows the estate to express the terroir and identity of the region with precision. Vinification follows a traditional approach, with fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The focus is on preserving fruit purity and overall balance, resulting in an elegant and authentic style. In the glass, it shows a clear ruby red colour. The nose reveals typical aromas of cherry and ripe berries, accompanied by subtle spicy notes. On the palate, it is balanced and structured, with present fruit, well-integrated tannins, and a harmonious, persistent finish.
