Primo Terlaner I Grande Cuvée 2022 is the flagship white wine of Kellerei Terlan, beautifully capturing the essence of Terlano’s unique terroir. For this iconic cuvée, the winery selects only the finest grapes from its top vineyard sites. The 2022 vintage is composed of 62% Pinot Blanc, 35% Chardonnay and 3% Sauvignon Blanc. Slow fermentation takes place in large oak casks, followed by 12 months of ageing on the fine lees in large wooden barrels, giving the wine remarkable depth, precision and exceptional ageing potential. The grape varieties perfectly reflect the Terlano region: Pinot Blanc delivers structure, elegance and refined mineral tension on South Tyrol’s porphyry- and limestone-rich soils, while Chardonnay adds richness and a creamy texture. The small share of Sauvignon Blanc brings aromatic freshness and delicate herbal spice. Thanks to the pronounced day-night temperature shifts, these varieties develop extraordinary precision and complexity here. In the glass, it shows a bright, intense straw yellow color. The bouquet reveals notes of citrus fruit, white pepper, fine herbs and a subtle smoky nuance. On the palate, the wine is elegant and perfectly balanced, with a refined texture, great mineral depth and an exceptionally long, savory finish.
