The Barbera Passito DOC 2024 by Bricco Lagotto is a remarkable red wine made from 100% Barbera grapes. Typical of Piedmont, these grapes are known for their intense aromas and vibrant acidity. After harvest, the grapes are dried for about 10 days, reducing their water content by up to 25%, thereby concentrating aromas and flavour. In the glass, the wine displays an intense ruby red colour. The bouquet is rich and complex, marked by ripe dark berries, cherries and subtle spicy notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied and highly harmonious, with a long and elegant finish. The tannins are velvety and well integrated, giving the wine remarkable structure. Characteristic of this wine is the traditional Passito method, which gives it its distinctive concentration and richness. The climate of Piedmont, with warm days and cool nights, together with gravelly and calcareous soils, contributes to the high quality of the Barbera grapes, promoting the development of intense aromas and balanced acidity.
