The Chardonnay Riserva DOC Vigna AU 2022 from
Tiefenbrunner is a refined white wine from Alto Adige, produced from
100% Chardonnay. The Riserva designation indicates extended ageing beyond standard DOC requirements, giving the wine greater depth, complexity and structure through prolonged lees contact and additional bottle ageing.
Vigna AU is a single vineyard located in Entiklar (Niclara), in the municipality of Kurtatsch on the South Tyrolean Wine Road, characterised by morainic soils with clay-rich sands, high limestone and mineral content, which impart pronounced minerality and vibrant freshness.
Harvesting is carried out by hand at optimal phenolic ripeness. After gentle pressing, fermentation takes place in small oak barriques, followed by malolactic fermentation and
extended ageing on the lees. The combination of wood and bottle ageing results in a harmonious, well-structured wine with clear expressive precision.
In the glass, the Vigna AU Riserva shows a deep straw-yellow colour. The nose reveals a complex bouquet with mineral notes of flint and walnut, complemented by yellow exotic fruit, delicate floral hints and elegant nuances. On the palate, the wine is intense, juicy and finely structured, supported by lively acidity and subtle tannins, leading to a long, harmonious finish.
