The Lagrein Rosé DOC Reif 2025 from Erbhof Unterganzner is a characterful South Tyrolean rosé that expresses the typical fruit and freshness of this indigenous grape variety in a particularly elegant way. The vineyards of this historic family estate are located on the eastern side of the Bolzano basin at around 285 metres above sea level, where warm days and cool nights create ideal conditions for expressive yet precise rosé wines. Lagrein is one of South Tyrol’s signature grape varieties and, as a rosé, stands out for its juicy, fruit-driven, and finely structured style. Vinification takes place through gentle pressing and a short skin contact of around six hours, followed by temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation is deliberately avoided in order to preserve the wine’s lively freshness and clear fruit expression. In the glass, it shows a bright ruby-pink colour. The nose reveals delicate aromas of strawberry and raspberry. On the palate, it is fruity, juicy, and elegant, supported by fresh acidity and a clean, harmonious finish.
