The Franz Haas Sauvignon DOC 2024 is an outstanding white wine from the historic wine-growing region of Alto Adige in northern Italy, expressing the distinctive character of pure Sauvignon Blanc with clarity and precision. The vineyards are located on the hillside sites of Alto Adige at elevations between 400 and 800 metres above sea level, on calcareous and dolomitic soils with south to south-west exposure. Marked day-night temperature variations promote optimal ripening and high aromatic intensity. After gentle pressing and partial fermentation in stainless steel and barriques, the wine matures for around eight months on the fine lees, gaining additional structure and complexity while fully preserving the typical freshness of Sauvignon Blanc.
In the glass, the 2024 vintage shows a pale straw-yellow colour with greenish highlights, conveying freshness and vitality. On the nose, it reveals a layered bouquet of elderflower, white peach, complex dried fruit notes and subtle oriental nuances, complemented by a fine mineral touch. On the palate, the wine impresses with its lively, crisp acidity, juicy fruit character and a clear saline minerality, leading into a long and elegant finish. This harmonious combination of aromatic richness, precise freshness and mineral depth makes the Franz Haas Sauvignon Alto Adige DOC 2024 a compelling example of modern, terroir-driven Sauvignon from Alto Adige.
