The Barolo Campé DOCG 2021 from La Spinetta comes from the single vineyard Campé in Grinzane Cavour, in the heart of the Barolo area. This cru is considered one of the most prestigious sites in the appellation, characterized by calcareous marl soils and an ideal southern exposure. Nebbiolo thrives in these conditions, producing wines of remarkable structure, complexity, and longevity. In this part of Piedmont, the grape expresses a style that is both powerful and refined, with a strong sense of terroir.
Vinification includes temperature-controlled fermentation and a maceration period of around two weeks, allowing optimal extraction of color, structure, and aromas. The wine is then aged for about 24 months in French oak barrels, followed by further refinement in bottle. This aging process creates a balance between intensity, depth, and elegance, while supporting excellent aging potential.
In the glass, it shows a ruby red color with garnet reflections. The nose reveals complex aromas of rose, ripe red fruits, and subtle spice. On the palate, it is structured and deep, with present yet well-integrated tannins and a refined mineral character. The finish is long, elegant, and persistent, marked by both fruit and spice.
