The Kerner DOC 2025 from the Neustift Monastery Winery is a characterful white wine from the Eisack Valley, one of South Tyrol’s highest wine-growing regions. The grapes come from steep vineyards at altitudes between 600 and 750 meters around Neustift and Vahrn. The soils, rich in glacial deposits, combined with cool nights, enhance freshness and aromatic intensity. Kerner is a grape variety created from a cross between Trollinger and Riesling and is known for its pronounced aromatics, lively acidity and precise structure. It is particularly well suited to the climatic conditions of the Eisack Valley, producing expressive and well-defined wines. After hand harvesting, the grapes are gently pressed and fermented at controlled temperatures in stainless steel to preserve freshness and fruit aromas. The wine is also aged in stainless steel, maintaining its varietal character. In the glass, it shows a light straw yellow color with green reflections. On the nose, aromas of peach, apricot and nutmeg emerge. On the palate, it is fresh, aromatic and lively, with precise acidity and a clean, persistent finish.
