Barone Ricasoli is one of Tuscany’s oldest wineries and is deeply connected to the history of Chianti Classico. Around the historic Castello di Brolio in Gaiole in Chianti, distinctive wines have been crafted for centuries, combining regional identity, elegance, and modern precision. During the 19th century, Bettino Ricasoli played an important role in shaping local viticulture and contributed significantly to the development of the Chianti region.
Barone Ricasoli’s vineyards stretch across different elevations and soil types in the heart of Chianti Classico. Limestone-rich alberese, galestro, and sandstone soils create ideal conditions for structured wines with a strong sense of place. Sangiovese stands at the centre of production as the region’s signature grape variety and forms the backbone of many wines in the portfolio. It is complemented by varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc, primarily used in selected blends and single-vineyard wines.
Castello di Brolio remains at the centre of the estate’s identity. Surrounded by vineyards, this historic castle is one of the best-known landmarks of Chianti Classico and represents the balance between tradition, innovation, and a strong focus on quality.
The portfolio ranges from classic Chianti Classico wines and Gran Selezione to expressive reds such as Casalferro and Colledilà. These wines reflect authenticity, balance, and the unmistakable character of Tuscany.
