The 2023 Pinot Noir DOC P!geno from Stroblhof comes from the Überetsch area of Alto Adige and is one of the estate’s most traditional wines. This Pinot Noir has been produced since 1892. The grapes come from three different vineyards located in the municipalities of Appiano and Caldaro. A significant proportion grows directly around the Stroblhof estate at approximately 500 metres above sea level, while other parcels include the Sattel site at around 400 metres. The estate cultivates around six hectares of vineyards at the foot of the Mendola massif. Limestone-rich soils with porphyry influences, varying elevations and cool descending mountain winds shape the vineyard conditions. In the cellar, Stroblhof uses oak for ageing, with the aim of supporting the wine’s character without overpowering it. In the glass, the wine shows a bright ruby-red colour. The nose is marked by sour cherry and blackberry. On the palate, it offers balanced tannins, pleasing fullness and a smooth structure. The finish is harmonious and persistent.
