The Cedar Cuvée IGT 2023 from Weingut Kornell is a fascinating mix of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Lagrein. These grape varieties complement each other perfectly and create a wine that impresses with its fruit, freshness and structure. Merlot brings soft, fruity notes, Cabernet Sauvignon provides depth and complexity, while Lagrein adds a spicy component and powerful tannins.
This wine comes from the vineyards in Siebeneich, which are located on a south-west facing slope at an altitude of 300 meters. The soil consists of porphyry rock, which gives the wine a special minerality. The climate in this region, characterized by warm days and cool nights, promotes the slow ripening of grapes and intensifies the development of aromas.
The cedar cuvée has a strong ruby red. On the nose, elegant, fruity aromas of red berries, cherries and raspberries develop, accompanied by balsamic notes, a touch of chocolate and violets and a slight spiciness of tobacco on the finish. On the palate, the wine is inviting with elegant tannins, playful freshness and richness, juicy and pleasant to drink.
