The EWA Cuvée 2025 by Elena Walch is an elegant South Tyrolean white wine blend that harmoniously combines freshness with aromatic depth. This vintage is composed of 60% Gewürztraminer, 20% Müller Thurgau, and 20% Chardonnay – a particularly exciting combination for the region. While Gewürztraminer, especially grown around Tramin for centuries, is one of South Tyrol’s signature grape varieties and is renowned for its expressive aromatics, Müller Thurgau from the higher, cooler vineyard sites contributes vibrant freshness and lively tension. Chardonnay completes the blend with structure and refined elegance. The grape varieties are vinified separately and only brought together in spring to form the final cuvée. The calcareous, well-drained soils, together with the Mediterranean-Alpine climate and its pronounced day-night temperature shifts, give the wine its pure fruit character, clarity, and precise style. According to the winery, the early and compact 2025 harvest also promises particularly balanced quality. In the glass, the wine displays an intense straw-yellow colour. On the nose, elegant floral notes of rose petals unfold, accompanied by delicate herbal nuances and an inviting aromatic freshness. On the palate, the cuvée is juicy, elegant, and lively, with beautiful balance, subtle spice, and a long, surprisingly multi-layered finish.
