The Pinot Blanc DOP Castel Juval 2025 by Weingut Unterortl comes from the Vinschgau Valley in South Tyrol. Castel Juval – Unterortl is located in Kastelbell on the Juval hill, where cool winds from the Schnals Valley meet warmer currents from the Vinschgau. This distinctive microclimate helps shape wines with clarity, freshness and character. The estate was founded in 1992 by Reinhold Messner and today cultivates 4.3 hectares of certified organic vineyards on steep slopes between 620 and 850 metres above sea level.
Castel Juval is closely connected to the castle of the same name, which rises above the vineyards and is also part of the Messner Mountain Museum today. The Pinot Blanc grows in the Plattacker site, located between 760 and 850 metres.
In the glass, the wine appears clear and bright. The nose recalls fresh apple, pear and citrus fruit. On the palate, it is mineral, persistent and harmonious, with fine acidity and elegant freshness.
