The Müller-Thurgau DOC “Vigna Feldmarschall von Fenner” 2023 from Tiefenbrunner is a distinctive white wine sourced from one of the highest vineyard sites in Europe for this grape variety, located at around 1,000 metres above sea level on the Fennberg plateau. The vineyard benefits from pronounced day-night temperature shifts and a sheltered position, creating ideal conditions for slow, balanced ripening. The grapes come exclusively from the single vineyard “Vigna Feldmarschall von Fenner”, whose altitude and soil composition impart a pronounced mineral character and a strong sense of origin. This wine represents an ambitious, terroir-driven interpretation of Müller-Thurgau, achieved through low yields, careful vinification and a focus on precision and depth. In the glass, it shows a bright straw yellow with greenish highlights. The nose reveals clean, expressive aromas of white flowers, peach and apricot, complemented by subtle mineral nuances. On the palate, the wine is elegant, finely structured and refreshing, supported by lively acidity and a long, mineral-driven finish.
