The Gewürztraminer Alto Adige DOC 2025 by
Elena Walch comes from Alto Adige, the historic
homeland of this grape variety. The area
around Tramin offers ideal growing conditions, with loose limestone-rich soils combined with sandy and porphyry elements, as well as sunny vineyard slopes refreshed in the evening by cool mountain air from the Dolomites. This unique balance gives the wine its characteristic elegance and distinctive regional expression.
Before fermentation, the grapes undergo around
six hours of skin contact, allowing for a gentle extraction of aromatic compounds. They are then softly pressed, the must is statically clarified, and fermentation takes place in
stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 18 °C. The wine is then
aged for several months on its lees in stainless steel vessels, adding further depth and texture.
In the glass, it shows an intense straw yellow color with golden reflections. The bouquet is expressive and aromatic, with notes of rose petals, floral nuances, and delicate spices. On the palate, it is fresh yet full-bodied, with elegant harmony, refined structure, and a long, intense finish.
