The 2023 Chardonnay Les Graviers from Domaine André et Mireille Tissot is made exclusively from Chardonnay grown within the Arbois AOC in the French Jura. The grapes come from parcels characterised by Bajocian limestone scree, a stony terroir that also gives the cuvée its name. The wine therefore reflects a clearly defined origin together with the precise vineyard work for which the estate is known.
Domaine André et Mireille Tissot farms around 35 hectares of vineyards according to biodynamic principles and is Demeter certified. The winemaking approach focuses on expressing the individual character of each terroir, with fermentation driven by indigenous yeasts. Les Graviers is one of the estate’s Chardonnay cuvées in which the limestone-rich soils play a particularly prominent role.
In the glass, the 2023 vintage shows a light straw-yellow colour. The nose combines fruit-driven and mineral notes with hints of warm stone and fresh hazelnut. On the palate, it is broad, lively and precise, with fine tension and a pronounced mineral character. The finish remains fresh, linear and pleasantly saline.
