The Perlato del Bosco Toscana Rosso IGT 2024 from Tua Rita is made exclusively from Sangiovese. The grapes come from the Alta Maremma area, within the Colline Metallifere. The vineyards grow on soils with a pronounced clay component and a medium to high proportion of stones. The stony character is more evident in the higher parcels, while the lower-lying sites contain a greater proportion of silt. A selected Sangiovese clone is also used for this wine, well adapted to the dry conditions and warm summers of the Tuscan coast.
The grapes are harvested by hand in small crates. For maturation, half of the wine is aged in 20-hectolitre wooden casks, while the other half rests in 40-hectolitre oak vats. This approach combines the characteristic fruit of Sangiovese with an elegant, structured and persistent style.
In the glass, the wine displays a ruby-red colour. The nose offers aromas of cherry and forest berries, accompanied by floral, spicy and lightly balsamic nuances. On the palate, it is balanced and complex, with ripe fruit, fine tannins and refreshing acidity. The finish is persistent, with lingering notes of fruit and spice.
