The Chianti Colli Senesi DOCG 2024 from Fèlsina is made exclusively from Sangiovese grown in the south-eastern part of the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga. The vineyards are situated on the northern edge of the Chianti Classico area, in a historic wine-growing landscape near Siena. The vines are trained on trellises and pruned using either the cordon or simple Guyot system.
After harvest, the grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine remains in contact with the skins for around twelve to fifteen days, with regular punch-downs and pump-overs during temperature-controlled fermentation.
Between February and March, the young wine is transferred to medium-sized and large Slavonian oak casks. It matures there for eight to twelve months, followed by at least three additional months of bottle ageing.
In the glass, the wine displays a ruby-red colour. The nose is characterised by red forest berries, complemented by notes of anise, sweet liquorice and delicate spices. On the palate, it is velvety and fruit-driven, with a finish that combines aromatic fruit with a subtle hint of vanilla.
